Born in Taiwan in 1990, Kevin began his musical studies at
the age of 10. During his study in Taiwan, Kevin took part
in many competitions and was awarded a number of prizes over
many years from the music- talented class in high school.
He studied the piano with Dr. Chih- yu, Chen (The 1st prize
of the International J.S. Bach piano competition in Saarbrücken,
Germany) and Erika Lux (Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater
Hannover, Germany) before he came to the UK. In 2008 he moved
to the UK to continue his undergraduate studies at Birmingham
Conservatoire, and was awarded the Dennis Matthew Memorial
Trust scholarship, the Miss A E Bowen Challenge Cup for the
first year pianist. Kevin also won the 3rd prize in the Moray
Piano competition in Scotland in 2009. In addition to his
solo work, Kevin also enjoys accompaniment and chamber music.
In 2010, he joined the Hepplewhite piano trio who were invited
to perform with the Schubert Ensemble for a world premieres
concert in London Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room. They
also won the 1st prize in the Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music
Competition.

At present he is in his 2nd year of undergraduate course
at the Birmingham Conservatoire studying with both Professor
Malcolm Wilson and Margaret Fingerhut (Piano), Fortepiano
with Sharona Joshua and Organ with Professor Henry Fairs.
Kevin also has taken part in Masterclasses with Mikhail Kazakevich,
Andrew Ball, Peter Donohoe and the Gould Trio.
