Tony Bridgewater was appointed Director of Music at Old Swinford
Hospital School in September 2003. He has travelled widely
abroad with school ensembles, and took part in exchanges with
La Costa Canyon High School, San Diego, in October 2000 and
2002. In 2005 the Old Swinford Choir sang for Sunday Mass
in St Mark's Cathedral, Venice, and in 2007 he took the Old
Swinford Choir and Concertband on an 8 day tour to Spain,
where the choir was honoured to sing at Sunday midday Mass
in Barcelona Cathedral and also at the famous Montserrat Abbey.
He has also performed with his choirs in the Royal Festival
Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London as part of the National
Festival of Music for Youth.

Tony Bridgewater studied piano with Malcolm Wilson at the
Birmingham School of Music and gained a B.A. in music at St
John's College, Cambridge. He enjoys performing in chamber
music, and has accompanied for the BBC Young Musician of the
Year and Dudley Young Musician competition on many occasions.
He has composed a range of music including pieces for Concertband
and Choir, sonatas for violin, trumpet and cello, and a string
quartet. His Second Piano Concerto is to be performed by the
Central England Orchestra in 2010. He has also been the Musical
Director of the North Worcester Operatic Society and was made
President of the Stourbridge Choral and Orchestral Society
in 2008, having previously conducted them for 6 years.
